Hey guys,

My name is Nihar and I own a 2003 Camry XLE I-4. I have a serious problem right now. Today, my battery died so my dad had to jump the car, to make a long story short, the Alternator's 100A Fusible Link located in the Fuse Box next to the intake/battery blew so I proceeded to replace it. After taking apart nearly the entire intake assembly and removing the battery, I managed to replace the Link and proceeded to Reassemble everything being careful not to misplace/in-correctly install anything.

When I started the car up, I had a CEL and quickly found that the Accelerator pedal had no response/effect on the engine. THE CAR WON'T ACCELERATE! It will go into drive and operate nearly normal with the exception that it won't accelerate, at all! I have checked all of the fuses and rechecked all of the intake connections to the intake that may have been disrupted, but nothing has strucken me or seemed out of place. The car will move, but it will move like it is in gear but no "pedal" is being applied.

I found another thread whose OP experienced almost EXACTLY the same chain of events that I have...http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/t218561.html. If you're out there, and you know what happened with the camry and can offer me some help, please let me know.

Despite my efforts, I have yet to conquer this problem. If anyone has any clue as to what the solution for this problem is PLEASE inform me ASAP. I am in desperate need. I pmed TRD VVTi, and will be awaiting your responses. If you have any info as to how to check the ecu beside a scanner tool (because I don't have one readily accesible), please please please help me out. If you know what the problem is, PLEASE help me out. If you have a copy of the FSM PLEASE help me out. Basically, any and all of your help is much much much appreciated and welcomed. Thanks for the time...

Did you plug your Throttle body and/or Mass airflow sensor back in?

Check for a vacuum line to the airbox that may have come loose by accident. Obviously something is disconnected or you have bad karma and something else failed, such as the pedal position sensor, throttle body, or a number of other things.

Victory Is Mine!

Thank you all for the help and support! Good news! Earlier, I was snooping around the fusebox and I finally figured out the problem. There was a sneaky ECTS labeled 10amp Fuse that had been causing all the ruckus. After replacing that fuse, at this time, the car is nearly perfect again with the exception of a slightly rough Idle.

I was also wondering at approximately your I4 Camry's are idling. Mine is currently roughly at 550-650 usually towards 650. Also, with the exception of an acessory belt that needs to be changed on my car, what else can i do to get a better/smoother idle?

Once again, thank you all for all the help and support.

PM sent...

...but it doesn't matter.

 I'm glad to hear that you solved your problem by yourself. Nice going.

Let your car idle in gear and it should relearn idle by itself after a few minutes.

It's also nice to get a PM where the person introduces themselves and furnishes their name instead of just asking for help. I appreciate the courtesy. :)

By the way, if you decide to use SeaFoam don't use it to clean the throttle body. Only use a designated throttle body cleaner for that.
