Hey Guys,

I need your Help. I will be entering my car in the NOPI Car Show in Sept. I plan on getting the car repainted , powdercoating my rims black, Rebuilding the Motor and some performence upgrades, and I plan on replacing the interior. I am currently trying to get a local company that will sponsor me to help fund my never-ending project for this event.

What I need help in is: 1. What do Car Show Judges look for in a Show Car? 2. What are some things I can to to set my car apart from other cars there? 3. Do you know of any companies that would want to get advertised at this type of event that would be willing to Sponsor my vechile provided that I advertise their company on my Vechile and by any other means that I can(Even a small sponsorship would greatly help me out) 4. Do any of you know of any good Hotels that I can stay in that are located in a good area where I don't have to worry about people breaking into my car? 5. What ICE components do you guys recommend to add the "Bling Bling" affect? 6. Do any of you know where I can get some JDM "Scepter" stuff for my car?

This is the First time that I will be entering my car into a Car Show and I'm kinda Nervous. I'm going there to have a good time but I'm also hoping to come back with a trophy in my Hand.

Please Help Me
Thanks,
-Terry

Good Stuff:thumbup:  Thanks Phi:) Yeah, I have poured already tons of money on my car and I'm about to spend a lot more getting it ready for NOPI. I am wiling to do what it takes to get sponsored.

Also, I'm in pretty good with 2 shops in my town and I'm thinking about talking to them, but I don't want to burn any friendships that I have with the people at those shops what should I do?
Also, I'm waiting on a response from another local shop that my Friend works for. His boss is pretty loaded and my friend is gonna talk to him, I will also talk with him. I know all the right people, I just don't want to damage any of my friendships with people by tryin g to get sponsored
^ yea what phi said :D
good luck with the show ~ and thanks for representin the camry's :)

Hey, no problem man. But I'm doing this more for myself then for anything. I need a "Morale" boost as I have kinda grown bored with life.

Plus I've always wanted to get more involved with the import scene and I think NOPi would be a great place for my car to get a good amount of exposure and for me to understand again why I've spent so much money on my car.

Please people give me your opinons on the questions that I have listed above.
Plus I have a couple more questions:
1. Do you think that I should change the color of my car?
2. What type of Fender flares do you think would look good on my Car?
3. Should I get my Rims Powder Coated Black?
Please give me your opinions
Thanks,
-Terry

Just My Opinion
1) Yes change the color to something thats catches the eye nuttin bright but nuthin to dull. (Pearl White<caddillac>,Torino Red<kinda like the fender stratocaster colour>, Metallic Blue)
2) i dont kno
3) It will look nice with the paint job u get.(varied)
jus my output

Good Luck
Here are the things that I've picked up through my 3 years of showing my camry.

1. CLEAN the car. This means everything. BEHIND the fenders, under your seats, take out everything out of the car. EVERYTHING has to be CLEAN. That's the #1 thing of being a judge is to see how clean a car is. Eddie will vouch for this.

2. Most Judges look for the overall PACKAGE of the car. They'll look any flaws the car may have. Such as waves in the paint, orange peel in the paint, body kit that doesn't fit well, bad body work etc.

3. I HIGHLY suggest that you point out and talk with the judge. about 99% of the time, they'll over look fine details until you point them out. BUT don't insult the judge's intelligence. I made a mistake about telling a judge that my car came with the 5s-fe standard and he looked at me and said "I know that" with a tone telling me, "you think I'm stupid?".

4. Take time talking with the judge too. And if you find that showing is soemthing you like to do, then get some tips from the judge as well.

5. Overall, have fun. Don't stress yourself out about winning. After 13 trophies and a ton of stress, I could give a shit about winning anymore. It's fun and exciting but it's not worth stressing over about. I'm more worried about my team winning awards rather than me. If I win, then I win. It's just more rewarding I guess.

Have fun. I'll be at NOPI this year with my company's booth. Hope to check out some of the cars there. I'll probably meet up with Eddie and chill. Come by the booth. Don't be a stranger :)

Thanks. What company do you work for? I'll be sure to stop by your booth and maybe Eddie, you, and I can chill:) I'm also trying to form a TN meet so maybe a bunch of us can get together and chill. Will you be bringing your Camry out to Nopi?

As for my car I will make sure that it is Spotless. I'm thinking about changing the Color to Electric Blue. But we'll see
Anyone esle have some input? Like what kind of electronics I should have? I'm thinking about putting a PS2 and a TV in my Cam and putting more Neons. Any other suggestions?

I will be at the On the Scene VIdeo Magazine booth selling my videos. My camry will not be there.

As for things you should get, don't worry about it. This is what I learned about the show scene. There will ALWAYS be someone better than you in the show scene. It doesn't matter how much stuff you have, there will always be someone else above you. BUT, get as much stuff done toyour car. Stuff that you want to do. Not just things you want others to think, but what you want. :)
