Neons Question (I know, I know)

896 Views 12 Replies 9 Participants Last post by  SmokingTires
I have a semi-stupid question that I'd like someone to answer and I promise I'll never ask another neon question on this board again...until next week or so :)

How did you guys mount your tubes under the seats? Can you be specific please? I don't see an easy, yet clean, way to do this.

Please don't let this thread drift off into the vast nothingness of ignored topics. If you can't do it for me, then do it for your country you unpatriotic bastards.

I mean, "thank you in advance for your help." :D

Didn't your neon kit come with some kind of instruction manual?
i used screws and screwed them in
Your talking just under the seats right? Not under the dash?

Remove your seats, get some self-drilling screws and run them straight into the floorboard. Put the seat back, and your set.

Yes, I'm only talking about under the seats, and not under the dash.

You're suggesting that I screw them into the floor of my car? Is that safe? and are the seats easy to remove?

Screwed them into where? Which part of the floor or seat? and do I have to drill?

Just to clarify, I'm talking about under the seat, and not under the dash.
mine are right infront of the seats, like infront of the rails and just screwed them right in with a power drill
yea i just screwed them into the floor under the seat, no harm to the floor, really easy to do
you can try to screw them up into the seat, the problem is finding a place itll stay ( i still gotta screw one in again) or im not all that sure but i think you can use zip ties and around the neon and one of them spring thingys under the seat
I wouldn't screw them into the actual seat.

What you do is get self-drilling screws. You can then use and power drill and put them right in without drilling a pilot hole.

And the floor panels of your car are layered, and there is also one final layer before the bottom of the car. So you will be perfectly fine drilling into the floor panel.

*proof* People drill to mount aftermarket seats. So you'll be fine:)
im too stupid to figure out how to take out my seats, so I used velcro and put them under the seats. It's in an area when it cannot be kicked from the front or back seat, and they have never moved an inch

ha ha me too
Is no one boro like me??? I zip-tied them to the bottom of my seats, works like a charm! Just find one of the rails that goes from side to side and strap em on, but make sure you can still slide your seat forward and back.
Hahaha. I think Velcro is more boro then zip ties. But maybe not.

Smart thinking. And if it works, it works:thumbup:
