I just recently bought a 73 corona wagon MK2 as in just bought yesterday ! it is the inline 6 carbed autotragic

i have several plans but cant find much info on them other than wiki stuff

i have several questions that i did not see in the forums and not sure were to find them

1 i plan on doing a 1JZ-TT 5 speed swap "what will i need "i.e. motor mounts ,wiring for the body to engine harness, drive shaft, wiring diagram for the engine to gauge cluster etc.... all info is very welcome

2. suspension upgrades lowering kits etc..... i do plan on bagging it . due to i have coil springs in the rear not the leafs .

3. interior replacement parts such as . dash cover . carpet. misc trim etc..

4. the front bumper i have looked every where i can think of and know i haven't checked places yall may know about that i don't .

5 the headlights i checked around and noticed the headlights from the E30's bmw are the same size and the same bolt up style but i would like to find if they make an O.E. style headlight i can use for an hid conversion

6 im wanting to do a 5 lug conversion and was wonderind if this is a possible bolt on ,or is it a serous mod i.e. using the 3rd gen supra brakes and spindles to get the 5 lug i want. cause i the rear end in the supra is not a straight axle like the coronas . so what are my options.

7 finding body parts i know will be hard but when i start something i like having extra parts laying around "you never know when you will need them "
8. once the 1j is in the car what are my tuning options .i.e. ostrich , mega squrt etc...

9. this is my second Toyota i have ever owned my other is a mint virgin Gts panda 86 . so my knowledge on yota is very limited in all honest im a Honda man but i love old school Toyota's there a beautiful machine

agian im sorry if some one has already posted this . and asked the same questions i have im on a limited time to check the entire forums for the answers i need i wish i did ive learned alot just from reading the posts i have

1. mostly just eng mounts need fabbing, need ecu and harness from donor car. the supra 5 speed (r154) should work for ya. as far as wiring into the gauge cluster, you got me. locally there is a guy who has already done this swap as well as swapped in a IRS and air bags. i have no idea if he has a build up anywhere on the net, it is possible tho. closest thing to a website i think he has http://www.myspace.com/oldseriesgarage

2. see above

3. get a parts car or maybe a lucky ebay auction.

4. see above

5. hella makes a very good H4 conversion housing that is easy to upgrade to hid, hella even sells the kit for hid.

6. im not sure if you can bolt up or not with the mk2, i would think the ball joints would be a bit bigger then the base 4banger corona. but im gonna have to make custom control arms. rear end is easy with a 74-78 hilux axl.

7. see answer #3

8. visit www.myjzswap.com

9. im not gonna fault you for your honda love, but i might make fun of you a lil bit.

You've found your answer, out of the country.

By the way, what's wrong with the original M? The I-6 corons is quite rare and may even be a collector's item one day.

the old motor is a boat anchor, that motor he's talking about sounds like a unicorn to me, never heard of it but do'able.

the early M's were basically a chev straight six. as in even the intake gasket was real close...

i would proceed straight to 2jz myself, why F around, pop a much lighter motor that makes more power stock then spending twice the cash on a 3m.

its like spending a ton of cash on a 22r... why?

Because the M and the 22R are from a time when Toyota built reliable, durable long lasting engines. Besides, there is something about the older not modified Toyotas, the new ones can't match. I don't think the Camry will ever be a collector's car, do you?
actually i have 2 complete 4M motors in good shape but i love the sound of carbs and itb'ing a 2jz is a pain in the proverbial wiring ass . i like the rich sound of carbs . ive built and converted several carb engines to efi but just aint the same as a carb .

the 3M motor was famous in the 2000GT and also came with the 3Mze which was the 2.3 single over head cam tripple carb

im realistically looking at building to 7mge with a triple carb set up

also i noticed the suspension is very close to that of a chevy pickup
Where da peektures?
i have updated pics as well but need to get them off my cell first
HA! It's completely cool already!
i sense a hint of sarcasm

I see:)
i found my triple carb set up . im using the intake and carbs from a datsun 280Z
Datsun 280Z's didn't come with carbs, they had FI.

You are correct. 260Z with the L26 was the last carbed version. It had two Hitachi carbs. The L28 was yet another bored version of the venerable inline 6 and had a Bosch FI system.
i sense a hint of sarcasm
Not at all. I think it's cool and will only get better. No sarcasm intended.
