I just had my ECM replaced on my '05 corolla. It started to miss then stall, CEL lite on P0353 code. It failed #3

coil pack. I shuffled the coil packs, cleared the message. It

immediately​

started missing and got the same #3

code. Faulty ECM was the result.
Has this ECM been a problem for this engine? I have only had this car for 5 months, bought it used. I don't have a history with this car. I think it's a little early for this kind of failure.

It seems reciently that there has been a rash of ECU problems. It was free under warranty, correct?

Yes, it was covered under the warranty. I was a little worried since I bought the car used and had no extended warranty. At 38k I know at least some of the factory warranty is gone.
A friend with a matrix said same thing happened to him. I was just curious if this was common.
