Recently purchased a 1986 Camry with A/C, automatic, and in really GOOD shape. Bought it from a fellow who was the 2nd owner's nephew. They were selling it for their ailing relative.

Car is in great shape body wise, interior needs some work, cosmetically and just an overall GOOD cleaning.

Immediately upon getting the car, I changed the oil and filter, new air filter, new oil pan gasket(leaking), new valve cover gasket, new water pump, new thermostat, had the radiator completely cleaned out and pressure tested, new coolant, new oil pump, new timing belt and new coolant hoses.

It took me a few days to get everything replaced/fixed, but she runs like a dream now, and with the changed parts, I don't need to worry for awhile.

There is an issue with the alternator, however it's not drastic, and my brother is going to look at it since I'm out of time right now.

:welcome: to TN

With the attention your giving that 86, it's bound to be reliable transportation.

How many miles is it showing now? I'd love to see pics of it.:)
176K miles on it as of now. I'll need to load some pictures up here soon. I only started to replace the water pump cause the coolant looked pretty dingy. That ended up turning into a much bigger ordeal once I realized the timing belt turned everything.

I figured since I had everything apart, might as well replace the oil pump, oil pan gasket and water pump.
