Hey guys, today I bought another truck (2nd japanese truck) and I thought Id do a little research on it. Its a 81 pickup 4x4. It runs and everything, it just looks rough. I got it for $150...not bad huh?:D

Can anyone tell many speeds is the manual? 4 or 5? Either 5th is hard to shift into or its a 4 speed. And what sized/liter motor is this 4 banger? And where can I find a rebuild kit for it? All I plan on doing is putting on bigger mud/snow tires on it and next summer rebuild the motor. Also, I need to fix the prob with the tranny, I have to hold it in reverse for it to stay in reverse, what is causing that and how can I fix it? Thanks

If its anything like my old 92 Isuzu pick up...this thing will run forever like my F-250 :)

future mods include: bigger mud/snow tires, rebuilt 4 banger, off-road exhaust, roll bar, lights
Cool man Welcome to TN:) Those old Yota trucks last forever. I had a friend that owned a 84 and that thing still ran great. He wrecked it though:(

But good luck with it:thumbup: And keep us updated
You need some 34" tires on that bad boy :D

How much for the Stang? I might know someone who is interested :)

asking $4500, it has a brand new 302 with 1K miles on it and 94K on the chasis
cool truck man. i'm thinking those old yotas were 5 spd. The problem with the 5th gear and reverse could very well be the synchros in the tranny....but thats hard to say for sure.

What model stang is it? To bad you live so far....my mustang could use a LOT of donor parts

I'm in love :loove:

*drooling*
Hmmm... GT, get a Cobra kit for it, KenneBell charger, 13" drag radials on the back. Maybe a set of Cobra rims :D

I'll talk to my bro. He is looking for one right now. There very well could be interest :)
