Just wanted to drop a note, I am as of yesterday the proud owner (well, lessee) of a most awesome 2019 Highlander SE. Still trying to figure out how it doesn't have LED headlights to go with its LED foglights...but anyway.

Just wanted to say hi - I'm a first time Toyota driver, so I'm still trying to soak up what all the hype is about!

Hi. The hype is that generally speaking across Toyota models you will find a high reliability/durability factor. Of course there are problems here and there and some year/model/applications have their issues, but Toyotas are known to easily go many, many, many miles with minimal repairs (in comparison to other makes/models/applications). 386K miles on my 2004 Corolla. Still runs great. I expect to get 500K miles out of it. No repairs done on the inside of the engine or transmission ever. I've never even had the valve lash adjusted. Dealing with an evap check engine light code, but I keep finding other things to do. Will fix that some day.

The last new car I bought was a 2004 Acura MDX in 2004. I paid 2 grand more for my 2019 Highlander Limited today. I'm thrilled. Bought it for the reliability and the rest is iceing on the cake. I will be using it for vacations and golf trips short and long. I'll put protective film on the front bumper and hood. Then I'll have the front door windows tinted. This may be the last car I ever buy.
