Hello everyone

I am a new member here and I need your help

I have a 2009 corolla LE automatic, I bought it brand new from day 1.

It currently has 105,000 miles. I have noticed it is burning some oil.

I then googled and found out this is a problem with my car. I believe there is a recall for "excessive engine oil consumption"?????

Can I still take my car to the dealer and have them do the recall and replace the pistons?

Is there a website I can go to and print out the recall and show the dealer? I am a girl and Im afraid they will take advantage of me.

thanks for your help guys!

Although there never really was a recall on the excessive oil consumption on these years of cars....but toyota knew about the problem and even went so far as to do a test. I believe it was called oil consumption test where you went to dealer and they changed your oil and placed a factory seal on the drain plug and filler cap, as well as the dip stick.....and you drove it for a specified mileage and took it back to them for assessment.

But if you Google your year and model car...there actually is a website for a class action lawsuit against Toyota.....and ive heard people getting results...such as replaced pistons to a new engine, thats depending on the severity of problem.

PS....welcome to the forum, and keep us informed.....as well stay safe.

The oil consumption TSB is mostly found on the 2AZ for Corolla xrs, matrix xrs, Scion tc.

Is there oil in the tail pipe soot?

Mine burns oil as well. It has since it was new. Just check the oil and make sure you are in between the levels on the dipstick, or top it off if you choose. Do not overfill, and make sure you check the oil either before you start it on a level surface, or wait 10-15 minutes after driving for an accurate reading.
