Get a sub-miniature or miniature toggle switch. Radio Shack has them.

You need one with 3 prongs, spdt (single pole double throw).

A push button switch (momentary switch won't work).

I went to Fry's today and picked up some switches for a project that I'm doing on my computer. So I figured I'd also rewire the o/d switch on my car.

Heres some pics:

The switch is a miniature spdt (single pole double throw) switch.

Wiring it up is simple. You use the center prong and one of the outer prongs on the switch.

^ I believe thats a momentary contact switch. I've seen them at Radio Shack. Check the packaging and see what it says.

If it is a momentary contact switch, it won't work.
