I frequent the forums here a lot for ideas, now I took the plunge. I've had my 07 Double cab since August and just now getting around to parts and a first post.

Tomorrow I am having a dual flowmaster 40 series exhaust installed. I am hoping this is the sound I want, aggressive, but I want do not want to go tone deaf in the cab. I searched, but I did not come across to much to do with flowmaster. Can anyone shed some light on this?

URD CAI should arrive next week sometime along with 2 pairs of bi-Xenons.

Sound equipment:
2 pairs of Polk Audio MMC6500
A profile AP1040 for the speakers
I have a phoenix audio amp for the sub already
1 shallow mount kicker sub in a supercrewsound box
all of this mounted to a custom fiberglass board hidden behind the seats

This is going to take sometime to install all this, of course with help from the generous people here who took time to make the installation guides.

Ill will be getting the two front windows tinted to the back, unless I can make the whole truck darker, not sure if you can tint over tint, or have to peel the old tint off.

Good thing I worked all the OT and DT at the hospital and have vacation in a week.

Sounds like a plan and fun for you good luck with all the goodies i definately want to see some pics, oh and by the way do not put tint over the tint just take the old stuff off wont look right its not at all hard to do soak up the tint with a soap base make sure your doing this in the sun so that when you peel it it comes off easy.

I have a dual-out flowmaster on my 06 double. I think it is the 40 series, but I'm not 100% sure. There is a good bit of noise in the cab....thats a fair trade off, because it's loud on the outside.

Of course, the loud sound system is a good way to treat that

Edit: Also had a larger pipe size put in before and after the muffler. I'm sure that contributes to the motorboat sound inside the cab. If you're just doing the muffler, it might not be as bad

You can tint over tint and if done right it will look fine, and should also be able to match the front to the rears without a problem. I did limo over factory tint on all windows, my factory tint was the same front and rear and was barely tint. There are a few tint posts, so I am sure you can search and find what percent matches.

I think most have found that 20% matches the best, that's what I have, and I feel its about as close as you can get. See sig. above.

Welcome STOFocus. I have a true dual setup with the Flowmaster 50's. Initially it sounded nice, then I swapped out the stock headers with the DT Long Tubes and then it became obnoxiously loud in and out of the cab. So, I had my exhaust tech add 2 18" resonators right before the mufflers and it corrected it. I think you went the right direction with the Flowmaster setup and if you want to tone it down, the resonators might be an option. As for the tint, 20% is probably the closest match to stock. Or, as someone mentioned, just go limo (5%) all around and it will surely match; however it's illegal in most states. ;)

I had the flowmaster 40 series dual exhaust on my 05 taco and it sounded good. I always got compliments on it, but eventually I got tired of it phasing out my music, but no worries now cause I've got a new truck. Enjoy the truck, later
