I guess it's cool if you don't mind having a body lift. I don't think I've seen anyone w/ it just for that reason. 3" is a lot of body lift. But if you aren't going to be wheeling very hard and just want the looks, then sure. There has been a couple of threads on hit. Search here and over at customtacos.com
I personally don't like the looks of a body lift. Also they aren't a good idea for any amount of wheeling. But if you like it, go for it.
Ive seen this before, thats a good price. Like kellon said if you dont wheel a lot this would be fine, but i wouldnt trust it on the trails.
"This innovative system was engineered in the mountains of Central Arizona for the 2005-07 Toyota Tacoma 2WD/4WD. This exclusive system combines Trailmasters 3" suspension spacer kit with a 3" Performance Accessories body lift kit for a total of 6" of lift. 6" in the front and 5" in the rear for a level look, your vehicle will retain the quality factory ride. The kit includes a new front skid plate with stainless steel TrailMaster logo, Performance Accessories gap guards, and two sets of rear bumper brackets. SSV rear shocks are also included with the kit. All necessary hardware and brackets are included. This kit is offered exclusively from Trailmaster Suspension."

Innovative? A spacer and a body lift? Engineered? That's some creative marketing. Looks terrible. Our frame has all sorts of holes and such, just makes it look cheezy.
for ONLY $300 you can get a toytec suspension lift with an add-a-leaf...think about it...
Not considering one, but why does everybody piss on body lifts for Tacomas? I searched around and all I could find was people saying "they suck" or "not for wheeling" or "others have had problems".

Forgive my ingorance here, I'm coming from the Xterra world, where lots of people wheel the shit out of body lifted trucks w/o any problems. Of course on those, a BL allows for larger tires. With the Tacos it sounds like tire fitment is still limited by the body mount up front.

So what gives? Why does everybody hate them so much? To me they sounds like a decent option for someone who wants to mallcrawl without all of the issues that suspension lifts bring to the table.

-B...
for one thing, most tacoma users do high quality mods to their vehicles which include offroad bumpers and winches which do need a suspension lift because our stock springs cannot handle that much weight. And also if you do some more reading on suspension travels and learn that our stock suspension system does not offer that much travel, you may want to upgrade shocks. But then again there arent that many jumps or rocks at wal-mart, so I guess a body lift is perfect for your xshitta.
Thanks for the info... I'm aware of the advantages of high dollar suspension lifts as well as the disadvagtages of the many cheap suspension lifts.

Why does everybody hate on body lifts so much? What problems do they present for our trucks?
Ok... So the only problem mentioned in those threads is that if you jump a body lifted Taco, you could damage the body mounts. Still sounds better than worn CVs and driveline vibes from everyday use...

Just playing devil's advocate here.:naughty:

Problems? You look like a douchebag for one. Every one I've ever seen rattles or squeeks, and nobody that plopped a big chunk of change on a new Taco wants that. Plus, you don't get any advantages other than tire clearance, which you could get from a spacer lift for a lot cheaper. No extra ground clearance, no extra suspension travel, you still have the same crappy stock stuff you started with.
^ haha pretty much what menacekustoms said. Go ahead with a body lift if you want the looks, however, as soon as you go wheelin' and get stuck somewhere cuz your stock suspension couldn't take the beating, don't go whining to the guys with a suspension lift.

Most importantly, and I'm sure menacekustoms can back me up, is if you want performance, get as much travel as you can without lifting. Think about it.

Got to agree with you there;you never know when you might need to go through a ditch or cornfield or something!Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I remember reading that if you have a tow hitch a BL is out of the question?

If you want to run a body lift go for it. I know a ton of people that have them and wheel the shit out of them and have no problems. I ran a 2" body lift on my last taco (with a 4" suspension) I never had any squeaks. I did end up messing up one of my A/C lines because I didnt extend it. I drove that truck hard at times, never a problem with the lift its self.
Most people just hear a few stories of bad experiences and they think thats final. Yes you can have problems with it, yes you can have problems with suspension lifts and yes you can have problems with any modification you do. Just do it properly with the proper kit.

I heard that this girl did this thing one time in band camp...I know its true, my brothers, best friends, sister knows the girl, and she said so.

Well, no surprise that you had a bodylift, you are from Hawaii. As for the tow hitch, you would have to relocate it up to match the bumper, otherwise there would be a 3" gap between the bumper and the hitch. :thumbdown
