Looked at the new Gm and Chevies........still think that the interior looks cheap. Never have liked the way the layout is. On the other hand I was really impressed with the new Tundra layout. I did not think I would like it when I saw the pictures, but in person it really lookes great (i think).

My only one complaint about the tundra (two actually). The grill. In pictures it looks like a air intake about the grill, cut out of the top of the surround. In person, it is a cheap looking plastic piece that looks like it was glued on after sitting out in the sun and getting warped a little. Very ugly. I just don't get it..........why not just continue the surround. It has no purpose and is the only eye sore on the whole truck. I mean it is really ugly. I also didn't care for the honeycomb black grill.

However, when the 2000 tundra came out it also had a grill that I didn't really like. They quickly redesigned it and improved it over the years (just my opinion, don't mean to offend anyone). They also color matched them.

Anyway, to disagree with Engineers review on the Gm and Tundra. Today was Sunday and in Iowa car dealers must legally be closed. When I went back to take a second look at the Tundra's ugly grill 5 other people stopped with Fords and Chevy trucks to check out the new Tundra. Each one was asking me questions about my Tundra and the new ones. Quite a few lookers from other companies..........especially for just the 1st weekend.

But....what about that little plastic piece in the middle of the color surround at the top of the grill. It is very cheap looking. I think toyota hit the mark on everything else, except that one piece. What is it for. Why is it there. Why not make it solid all the way around.........i'm baffled

So it has no purpose? It is not an air induction? I don't understand why they would mold the grill to put in a plastic piece..........Is it supposed to be a push point to close the hood? It is really driving me nuts.
