Starter removal

Problem I've got is, I turn the key, I can hear the solenoid drop, but it doesn't crank. At one stage, if I jumped it off another car, it worked (even though the battery was fine).

Are Camry's known for sticky starters? Or should I be looking at the aftermarket immobiliser?

Forget that, just realised the starter was easier to get to than I thought it was. Hammer test says sticky starter :)

Any good tips on removal?

Thanks for the info. Going to have to try and find a reasonably cheap UK source for the contacts now :S

Nice to see user-servicable components on a part like that.

Just be glad it isn't branded "Lucas."

Anything you wanna elaborate on, timebuilder? ;)

I don't remember it being hard to remove. Disconnect positive battery cable, disconnect starter cable, remove two bolts holding starter to transmission...should fall out in your hands!
