The headlights decided to crap out on me this morning in my '94 22RE std cab. Everything else works, taillights, parking lights, dash lights, etc, just no headlights. Checked both L and R 10A headlight fuses in the panel under the hood, both are fine. I can hear the headlight relay click when I turn on the switch, so I doubt it's the switch. Probably the relay, right? Any idea where it is? Thanks!

No...I know that sounds stupid but I just didn't think both would blow out simulaneously. Plus, I had to get leave and didn't have enough time. I had to quick throw a wheel back on my old Chevy and nurse it to work.

Is it likely to blow both bulbs at the same time? Would that affect the hi-beams, too? I'll check this evening...checked the price of a relay and the sucker was $70. Can I test the relay that's in there?

Yeah there is a way to check the relay Im not for sure how though you have to search.. But that is your likely culprit.. Did you check the fuse box under the hood?

Yeah, the one behind the battery, had one 10A fuse for each headlight. Both were OK. I think I know how to check the relay now (checking resistance on the input side), so I'll give that a shot. Glad they crapped out BEFORE I left the house or I'd be duct-taping flashlights to the hood right about now.

An update--

It WAS the headlights. Checked the relay, worked fine. High beams worked fine, too. Saw 12V at the plug in low beam with the multimeter, but no lights. Swapped a sealed beam out from my Chevy (don't we wish all cars were this simple??) and it worked fine.

So, both headlights blew. Simultaneously. Somebody call Ripley's.
