I hav an 88 22re, the previous owner installed a 260s comp cam. The engine makes a clicking and humming type noise thats pretty loud, i assumed the clicking was the valves and figured they needed adjustment, i also was thinking about checking out my timing. later on i read that these cams are known to be loud, does any1 have expierence with them?

btw- a little tick in the 22re is normal. some will argue that. but i've messed with my timing over and over. some people can eliminate the tick, but some cant. but remember, its a 22re, it'll last longer than a twinkie
for the record i only made a smartass remark to one person that was trying to help me. you were just a third party and i didn't know you were the chosen spokesperson for everyone on this forum haha. but anyway yeah i was told it was normal too, but it seems quite louder than my buddies trucks.
