The day after is rains, I back out of my garage, and when starting to go forward I hear this low squeak sound from the back wheels. I am not braking when it makes this noise. The sound pulses faster as I drive faster. I.e. squeak, silent, squeak silent as i drive.. but it does stop after 10-20 seconds of driving. Should I be worried about this noise? I know it's rust somewhere that water collected. Where should I lubricate if needed? Could it be rust on the rotors brushing against my brake pads?

Thanks

note that when i back out and brake, it does not make any noise. It's when I go forward without braking that it makes the noise.. Do my brake pads touch the rotors slightly when going forward? Maybe my brakes are sticking to my rotors? This is a new car with 3600 mles Gen 6

Yep, the brake pads will slightly contact the rotors even when the brakes aren't applied.

For this reason many race cars are actually set up to have the brake pads retract slightly so there isn't any additional drag. It's also a reason why drum brakes stayed popular in drag racing for many years. You can adjust the brake shoes on drum brakes so that they don't contact the drums when the brakes aren't applied which reduces drag.

On today's cars the slight contact isn't a big deal as far as efficiency goes. Cars with "squealers" (wear indicator tabs) on the brake pads will make noise when the pads are worn down until you hit the brakes and put enough pressure on the "squealers" that they can't vibrate or squeal anymore.
