Hi folks
Well I feel like an idiot as I hear most take 1hour to install the k&n intake however hoping you can help as I'm at 2h mark! trying to pullout the 2 retaining clips that hold mass air harness to the air box in my 2010 dc v6 but don't want to force anything. I was able to disconnect the mass air sensor but the harness clips are something else..any help would be appreciated ...taco noob

I'm not 100% sure what clips you are referring to. But if they are the ones I think your referring to...they just unclip.

thanks dark taco...just pryied up a little bit more and as you said they pulled right out... the extra beer break didn't hurt either. It's a brand new taco and didn't want to damage anything
Understandable any pics of the install. I have been considering this mod....but have been undecided thus far.
2chains, hope the mod went well after the beer. Pics would be great, I am considering this mod as well. I am still trying to decide between the TRD and K&N. TRD claims 15 hp where the best K&N that fits our truck claims between 7-10 hp. I know those are the best results and my truck will never see that but I do want the best part I can get.
I am not expecting to notice any HP gains since all the clams are at the 5k rpm range. I am considering the aFe pro dry as well. I am a sucker for the sound of these intakes make.

Hmmm... Darktaco damn you, now I have to research AFE. Hadnt even considered them until you mentioned it. But thanks, I do like to do my research!

Too many products out there all claiming to be the best. Does anyone give consideration to TRD parts? I do simply because they are made for our truck by the engineers who designed our truck and when I picture buying a modified truck from someone... would I want a bunch of random parts on it or parts specifically made to impove it by the engineers who designed the truck itself. Just curious.
lots of guys swear by the TRD intake. There are 2 versions IIRC. Just keep in mind that without other mods (SC, headers, exhaust) these intakes are only going to make a bit of noise and will not do much else.
Yea, I am installing the TRD exhaust this week. Next will be the intake and then some DT headers.
No pics but is the link from k&nhttp://www.knfilters.com/instructions/63-9025_inst.pdf pretty good outline the only hang up was the clip removal for the mass air harness that hooks into the air box...and you have to use a screw driver to pry up, slide in a small pliers and twist a little. the kit I got used for 140 cdn otherwise I would have got the trd kit. Undecided if it was worth it as it has been raining here, it seems louder at higher rpm's but the idle seems to be the same as stock. Seems to have more pick up and go...if you go with the install it goes quicker if you prebuild the new components prior to old component removal
