Hey, I'm just wondering whats the difference between O/D on and off. I have tested it out a while ago and having O/D off seem to give me a boost as it reach surpass 4000rpm (almost 5000) While O/D on.. well it goes to 3000 and shifts to the next shift. I also did some research on O/D but it came out to numerous results that leads me confused..and the last question is switching O/D on and off a good thing for the engine of my camry? So if anyone know plz gimme some suggestions :)

Thanks!

PS: I just want to know more about my car :D

oh gosh...lol......hmm

in simplest terms, OD off is basically down shifting your tranny to 3rd gear, that's why you see a climb in the RPMs and the suddent kick.

that's all. O/d off keeps you at 3rd gear and now higher.

good for hill climbing and for when the tranny can't figure out which gear to stay in.

Keep O/D on always for fuel economy!!

(fair warning......they are coming)

edit...and refer to your owners manul for more indepth info.
