Hi All!
Just got into a 2011 HL Limited with 172k miles. Car is absolutely mint. I don't think anyone ever sat in the back ever.. even the driver's seat is like new. The car did come with a tow hitch already on it, which makes me a little nervous that maybe this was a tow vehicle. I suspect/hope it was sparse. What all should I be checking for? I have 7 days to return the vehicle no questions asked :) The only issue I've noticed is a slight mildew smell coming from the driver's door window. I researched this on these forums and apparently the inside of the weather strip at the bottom of the outside window holds moisture for a few days after a rain. Anyone have experience with this? I'm having it inspected at an actual Toyota Stealership later today. Oh, and I paid 12.8k (from a dealer) in case anyone is wondering. Which is surprisingly below kbb private party.

Welcome to the forum. "stealership" should easily find a bunch of stuff "desperately needing to be done" unless they are one of the rare honest shops.

Keep us posted on the outcome!

Hi everyone! Moving here from TacomaWorld. Last week, I got a 2010 4WR Highlander with 69.8k miles on it (magnetic grey metallic exterior, ash interior). Looking forward to reading past threads and talking with y'all. 🍻
Greetings all! Just ditched the Subaru Forester owners forum to join here. Recently picked up a 2012 HL SE 4WD with 124k miles on it, in the beautiful (to me) sizzling crimson mica. See you around!

Hi My name is JT and I'm a mechanic looking for clues.
Hi folks, I’m the second owner of a barely-driven 2010 Base V6 4wd Highlander. I appreciate all the mechanical advice so far and hope I can offer some insight too. It’s great to be among like-minded Toyota owners!

Hi there, my first Toyota was a 2006 Highlander Hybrid and now own a 2013 Limited which has 170K miles and still going strong ... mostly. :) I change the oil, brakes/rotors, and just replaced the alternator, which was tough. Looking forward to learning how to DIY fix a few issues.
Hi all! We just bought a 2012 Highlander last week. Great condition, low miles, beautiful. Happy to learn more from these forums.

Hello Everyone….
Just purchased a 2011 Highlander Limited. This is my 2nd one (1st new 2015 Platinum). 143,000 on it and I’m sure I’ll double that. Here is where I will learn how to make that happen. I’m looking to learn about this one as it’s not as familiar as I thought it would be. Thank You guys in advance for guidance.
Hi, I'm new. I live in Minneapolis, MN and just picked up a 2013 base model in metallic grey.

I have owned several Toyota products and I am looking forward to enjoying this one as well.

Hi, We have a 2013 Highlander Limited we bought with 78k kms and now have it up to 130k kms just over two years later. This thing is our first Toyota and we love it! In the spring we are planning to get our first RTT and start overlanding in until we make our next vehicle purchase (either a 4Runner, GX460 or dare to dream a Land Cruiser)
Update: recently had drive belt tensioner and idler pulley replaced. See below for more details.

John here.

I own a 2009 Toyota Highlander V6 AWD Limited.

Look forward to meeting you all and getting/giving help.

Past issues I've had 🤣
... at high level:
1. Car won't start #1
Cause: battery terminal corrosion blocking cold cranking electric current.
2. Car won't start #2
Cause: bad alternator drained battery dead.
3. Forget which light came on but...
Fix: replaced crankshaft/camshaft position sensor.
4. Noise from engine compartment.
Fix: replaced water pump.
5. Whining noise while in motion (steering wheel straight) and the noise gets louder with steering wheel turned either way.
Fix: drive belt tensioner and idler pulley.

Hey folks!
I am Tony and just purchased a 2012 Highlander 4WD Limited. Enjoying the luxuriousness! It has 103K miles and seems mint. My last Toyota (a while back) was a 4WD Tundra. Best vehicle I ever owned, by far. But now they have gotten too expensive and my needs have changed. Needed more of a people hauler. Looking forward to all the great information from you folks.

Hi everyone. I have owned a 2013 Limited for five years, and we really enjoy the vehicle. I need some help updating the vehicle, which is why I joined this forum.
I want to replace the stereo receiver to one that is Apple CarPlay compatible. Does anyone have one?
Hi everyone. I am Jason, I am really honored joining the forum.

I have a 2012 base Highlander FWD. The vehicle has 150k miles, and drives great. Coming from 1st gen Mazda 6 which is famous for its precise handling, I just feel like my Highlander it is a little floaty and has too much body roll. Anyway I still like driving it to anywhere I want. Toyota reliability give me a piece of mind of owning the vehicle in the next 5 years, I did most of the maintenance myself.

Right now I am looking for ways to improve handling, such as enhanced sway bar and lowered spring.:):p:ROFLMAO: I know it is hard but I want to give it a try.
Hi forum, I own a 2009 Highlander Limited, 118k miles. I purchased it in 2015 with 55k on it. I do all of the oil changes myself, just upgraded the JBL speakers (highly recommend this as all of my doors ones were rotted), recently replaced all discs/rotors and brake pads, all fluids, filters and plugs. I upgraded the headlights to LEDs. It's been a great vehicle and I plan to keep it for a long time.

My only complaint is a small front end vibration at highway speeds. I've done everything I can think of including 4 new Continental tires and road force balancing. I get it around 75 mph - 80 mph.
