Offset gen3

Will wheels with a +45 offset stick out too far on a Gen 3??

stock i think is 38...you could get away with a 42

i think 45 is pushing it though, but it'd probably work on some...i'd go 40 or 42 though if you have the choice

I have the 1.8 drop. My wheels are 18x8 with an 51+ offset in the front and +38 in the rear. They fit without rubbing. They're custom offsets.
the reason why i am asking is because, i have 17 by 7s (+38 off-set) and when i lowered my coupe 1.8 inch the top out side of my tires hits the fender, so i took my rims off, and am going to sell them, i need to know what a good off-set would be for the rims i should get in the near future to replace the +38 off set ones...thanks
