Ok, I did 5 quarts of Castrol 5w20 and a Purolator Filter. This was my first change at 4700 miles, it made the truck drive a million times better!

To reset your light, make sure your trip is on "ODO" turn the the key to off, hold down the trip button and turn the key to "on" the dashes will blink all the way down and lights will blink, turn key to off..... Done...

Hope that helps!

This thread is a joke, right?

Like someone wouldn't read the manual (afterall, why would the manufacturer put such info in an owner's manual), or assume that the info is already posted on a gazillion threads in this forum?

Need to work on our humor guys.

Oh, yeah- and my first Castrol change improved my reading vision...

You know what? When its at the end of a 12-hour workday, and i need to change my oil, after already working at a dealership, getting a ton of shit in my eyes, in addition to my contacts, i dont want to do a ton of reading. Understand? Now, those who posted in the URL format, other than me. You can answer my question, or piss off. I dont need your bullshit.

Lighten up dude. Someone allready answered your questions :spanking: There is tons of good info and how-too's here all you need to do is take a few minutes to search for it. You should not have to do a ton of reading to get to what you need here 9 out of 10 times.

I've got 4 vehicles to keep track of and also hate to dig thru the owners manual each time. What works for me is once I get a new (or new used one) I go thru the manual and list all the imp stuff (like oil amt, oil filter #, viscosity winter vs summer, oil plug socket size, tire pressure, etc) and write them on a post-it in BIG letters with a magic marker and put the post-it on the front of the owners manual. Also keep a copy on the garage wall next to the oil /filter supply. Saves me from digging thru the manual every time!!!!!!!
I also make up a second post-it listing some of the additional maintenance items like air filter, fuel filter, radiator and trans flushes (where applicable), plugs, etc and at what 'miles their due'. Goes on the front of the owners manual as well.
Not that I'm all that organized but just hate digging thru the book to find all those items.

Excellent suggestion.

For an even nerdier suggestion, I usually take the owner's manual and give it a once thru read, highlighting those items that I'll probably want sometime in the future. Then I make a tab at things like the service info (fluids and levels, lug torque, bulbs, etc) using a stick-on label by putting 1/3 on the edge of the page and folding it half around to the other side of the page. Grab the manual, thumb the tab, and there it is. The P-Touch label makers are helpful too. I've started making a label for the lug nut torque for the vehicles. Stick it on the jamb next to the air pressure info. Air Filter change date and mileage on another, and stick it on the air cleaner housing. (Magic marker on the filter for date/mileage, so at a glance under the hood, I know the last time I svced two most frequent change items.)
