Anyone familiar with the Toyota oil filter number 90915-10003?
After the recent thread about the poor quality of the new made in
Thailand filter number 90915-YZZF2 replacing the made in Kentucky
90915-YZZA2 for Camry, I began searching for the Japanese version oil
filter. Seems this 90915-10003 is an equivalent part.

I know this is an old thread. The old part number the 90915-10003 was a fantastic depth filtration filter with synthetic media. It is no longer made in it's original form. My 2003 Camry came with one from the factor and for a few years you could get them. At some point they stopped making them and went to a cheaper more conventional design. I have not seen anything like it before or since. They were made in Japan. Clearly profit margin was not good enough on that design so it had to go and newer cheaper design had to replace it.
