Got a new to me camry with 23,000 on it. Short story is I got under it to survey things and the sump on the oil pan had been mashed in towards engine about 3/8 of an inch. No leaks but am concerned with how close the oil pick up is to bottom of pan and weather it may cause lubrication issues. Anybody know what the clearance is on pickup to bottom of pan? Should I be concerned or is this likely not a problem ? Appreciate your knowledge.

Auto body shops have stud welding guns which can be used to weld a stud onto the bottom of the pan. They may be able to pull the dent out, then cut off the stud. This maybe cheaper than replacing the pan.
This assumes the pan is made from steel.

If you post a picture, maybe someone can tell you if it is in the area of the oil pick up.

your oil pickup may be damaged or it could crack in the future. oil pressure loss will kill the engine. i would take it off and inspect. to be safe replace the oil pickup tube also.
