So long as he keeps his perverted hands off of MY kids...

<http://jurist.law.pitt.edu/forumy/2006/01/alito-day-2-strange-adventures-in.php>

It got scary when Senator Leahy, and later Senator Kennedy, pushed
Alito on:

....

* Alito's approval, in a dissent criticized by Judge Michael
Chertoff, now Secretary of Homeland Security, of an unauthorized strip
search of a 10-year-old girl, and of an unauthorized gunpoint
"eviction" of a farmer and ransacking of his home.

....

What a neoconservative sicko.

Get your facts right....

Kennedy made an ass out of himself today....no surprise.

Alito is going strong and the demonrats are losing big time!

You want some fucking cop sticking her finger up your 10 year old
daughter's ass? Alito doesn't seem to have a problem with it.

>

I don't give a shit. Ever heard of fucking xrays? If they were that
concerned they could've xrayed her before they forced the little 10
year old girl to remove all of her clothes and be physically violated
in the most disgusting and vile way.

Kennedy was on point, 100%, and he got his way too.

Hey! Have you seen Keneedy's new book? Written for kids?

What got me was the cover, a drawing of My Favorite State Senator in front
of Congrees, with his dog:

A portugese WATER dog...

Named SPLASH!

I think I'd get a different breed...
With a different name...
And stop buying Oldsmobiles...

Once again, I find myself agreeing with Richard. There were other, less
invasive ways of examining the kid, instead of traumatizing her...

Did you bother to read the background on this story?

The cops served a duly signed warrant to search the residence and all
occupants. The people that lived there were known to hide stuff inside the
bodies of other people living in the house. Why would you think that a
little girl could not be employed to hide stuff inside her body, especially
when those that are doing the hiding are facing jail if they don't hide?

All Alito did was uphold the search warrant that the cops had. The cops were
sued privately for exercising the warrant, and Alito simply said they were
insulated from being sued because they had a warrant. If you want to get
mad, get jmad at the judge that issued/signed the warrant that the cops were
acting on.

The cops have PLENTY of discretion in matters like this. There is NO excuse
for such conduct.
That said, Alito is right. They had the warrant. Too bad it's nearly
impossible to hire good cops nowadays.

I'm sure the Nazis had search warrants as well. Ever heard of 'the
guise of legality'? Don't you go saying 'Alito is right'. He's FAR
RIGHT, but he was also far from correct.

I didn't say there wasn't anything wrong. Obviously, when the president
breaks the laws at will and when caught simply says it's good for you and
I'll continue, there's something very seriously wrong. I think Alito was
addressing only the point of law. He could've slapped the cops down for not
exercising ordinary discretion and for conduct unbecoming, however, the law
doesn't require either. Of course none of this addresses the real issue. The
"war on drugs" is a joke. Nothing more than a revenue stream for cops at
all levels. Essentially, this 10 year old girl was violated (raped), by
cops, for no reason and, just as disgusting, they know all this.

I meant that semi-rhetorically. You did say 'Alito is right', but my
man, in this climate we have to really tow the line here. We CANNOT
give this guy any rope whatsoever and then hope he hangs himself with
it. There is WAY too much at stake here.

Alito is a horrid, wretched choice for the Supreme Court.

We continue to have a 19th century style justice system.

Re: The big lie, OT ALITO APPROVES THE STRIP SEARCHING OF 10 YEAR OLD GIRLS

US Border Guards and the TSA have the legal authority, if they simply
'believe' there is probable cause, to search anyone, anytime in any manner,
without a search warrant. What is the problem with a female police officer
searching a 10 year old, in a known drug house who could be hiding drugs,
with a search warrant? US border guards and the TSA routinely find
contraband on babies, often even in their diapers ;)
