Just amazed how well the truck did today. I was playin around and hit a 95 + on the speedo and the truck was like a hot knife thru butter. So smooth. Has anyone burried the needle yet in their truck? I know on GM products there is a fuel shut off at 98 Mph. Anything like that for the Taco? and is there a way around it? I need a track to have some fun with this!!!:D :D :D

There's a guy living in Germany that posts on TundraSolutions that has a pic of his speedo at 110, driving on the autobahn. If I can find the pic, I'll copy it here.

EDIT: found it:

I had my 91 Grand prix up to 200 km/h.It could have gone a little more, but I decided to slow down because my hood started rattling when I came down a hill

However, I wont do anything like that to my truck, I take it easy on her. Only time its revved close to red, is when my tires slip on the ice. It hasent gone past 130 km/h

my needle was right at 110 one night driving home (had to drop a duece real bad and there was no place to stop until my exit on the highway). I didnt try to push it higher than that, but I wasn't hitting any limiter either

I did 90 in a Honda civic passing somebody coming down a hill once and the damn thing did not want to come back into the right lane. There was hardly any steering at that speed. Seemed like the front end was lifting off the ground

you still on stock rubber? i'd be more worried about exceeding the speed rating rather than the tacoma not being able to go that fast (which seems to be the case)
All though it was fun to push the limit a little bit today I doubt I will really get to the speed rating of the Bridgestones. They are rated S (up to 112 mph). Thanks for the concern though

This what I need

Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S
(Off Road All-Terrain)
Overview | Specs | Warranty | Reviews Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S

H = 130 mph

110 in the Tacoma
130 in the A4 (not topped)
140 in my old civic

I dont really have a use for those speeds any more. The Truck I just did because I was way up north in Canada on a 2 lane highway for miles with nothing and no one around. It got there really quick too.

I've hit the governor a couple times...seems while accelerating it will climb a little higher than 110 for a second as the governor kicks in then bring it down to just below. So I can see how the pic shows the needle at 110. His speedo calibration could be slightly off to with aftermarket wheels and tires.

I just would not be snapping pics at that speed but have both hands planted firmly on the wheel...(not suggesting there is a safe way to drive at 110 MPH, anyway)

Ha Ha I have too many cars to list.
108 - Tacoma
163 - R6
142 - GSXR
113 - Bone stock hf CRX
126 - 02' Civic Si
I am sure there are more, but no need to bore all of yall with em.
Part of why I am so impressed with the truck is when I worked at the Proving Grounds here in Mesa I got to do break in miles on then the new 04 and the unreleased 05 vetts for sport mags Like Car and Driver, Road and Track to do thier evals on the new year releases of the Corvette. The Vettes are a sweet car and nothing can compare. The speeds I took the vettes at the end of the breakin where much faster (once 175 mph on the 05). I was impressed with the handling of the truck at suck a speed. Not exactly like the Vette but comfortable and stable and with a lot more room to go faster.
