Two Men Charged In Slayings of 7 in Richmond Homes
Police Suspect Robbery Was Motive In Attacks on Two Families Last Week

By Jay Mathews
Washington Post Staff Writer
Monday, January 9, 2006; Page B03

Two 28-year-old men have been charged with the killings of seven people
in Richmond. The victims, including two children, were members of two
Richmond families who were slain this month in their homes, police
said.

Ricky Gray, who grew up in Arlington, and Ray J. Dandridge, whose
address was listed by police as unknown, remained in custody yesterday
in Philadelphia, where officers aided by a SWAT team captured them
Saturday at a house. Gray and Dandridge could be extradited to Virginia
as early as today, authorities said.

....

Police said they quickly tied those killings to the New Year's Day
slayings of Bryan Harvey, 49, his wife, Kathryn, 39, and their
daughters, Stella, 9, and Ruby, 4, in their home in the 800 block of
West 31st Street.

All seven victims had been bound, police said. They said the Harveys'
throats were cut and their home set on fire. Police have not said how
Tucker and the Baskervilles were killed.

Gray and Dandridge were each charged with conspiracy to murder and auto
theft in Friday's slayings and with conspiracy to murder in the Jan. 1
killings. Police said they believe robbery was the motive in Friday's
crime and also may have been the motive in the earlier case.

This is one reason I am a proponent of owning guns for home defense. What's
really sad is that they killed innocent kids - and robbery was the motive.
What the fuck is wrong with people.

My friend grew up with this fellow in Richmond and knew his family
well. It's a shame this ever happened, but when it's someone you know
there is even more impact.

I wonder how many times they had been released from jail/prison prior
to these incidents.

My thoughts exactly...and it's the reason that I could never be
in any police force...there's no way that I could just arrest one
of these guys then deliver him live to a holding cell...

Death is too easy. Put them in some jail with others and let them get some
ass action for the rest of their lives.

So then, Strickland, you have experience with "ass action" and "jail
lube"? These concepts are new to this anal virgin.

I have no experience, but I don't need to ask what it is, like you did.
