OT TWU BRINGS NEW YORK TO A CRAWL; MAYOR BLOOMBERG REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE BASE PROBLEM

Mayor Bloomberg of NYC refuses to acknowledge the rights of the TWU
workers.

Given the drastic measures the TWU was forced to take to protect their
rights as workers, the NYC Mayor gave a press conference today where he
accused common rank-n-file workers of the TWU of being "against the
working people", and made no mention of the aggregious violations that
brought on the strike in the first place.

Unions are screwing themselves. They almost put GM out of business, they did
put Delphi to bankruptcy. In this day and age, it's hard to justify the
actions of unions. Don't get me wrong, I am for worker protection. Let me
give you an example of what I mean. My mom is a head nurse at a nursing home
in Chicago. She has union nurses that can basically tell her to go to hell,
administer wrong medication, and miss many days. It is almost impossible to
do anything about her. A friend that works for EDS and works with GM says
workers say "fuck off" to management and the management just takes it. Union
protection. People take advantage.

So - I recognize the importance of unions until now, but it has gone too far
with no checks in place.

The real problem is that American workers are under fire from cheap
competition in foreign countries where human rights and fair wages are
completely ignored. You like your underwear? Chances are a 12 year
old in Bangladesh made them.

The crooks at the tops of these corporations are the problem. The
workers in the union are behaving like any group that is under assault.

what does that have to do with public transportation.

The union owes the taxpayers 1 million dollars per day they are on
strike. We tax payers don't spend our hard earned money to build public
transportation only for it to be rendered useless by unions. They owe
us 1 million per day, now pay up!!

This kind of bullshit has got to stop.
