I was wanting to know the best way to do the following to my truck. I
would like to add power windows and locks. Should I buy some kit if so
which one or should I find the parts at a junk yard if so what year or
should I just give up? Thanks

Power locks are real easy to add - JC Whitney has a kit with plungers,
switches and wiring for about $40. You can tie it into an alarm system too
and use a single entry fob. Power windows are more work and more $. JC
Whitney has them but suspect not as durable as factory (they drive the
widows where the handle would be. With the factory parts you'll need the
door panels and probably some of the electric circuitry in the drivers kick
panel. I suspect the parts would be costly from a junk yard if you can find
them with the right color door panels. p.s. woth factory it is a completely
different windwo regulator mechanism.

I doubt that they will let you tear into a perfectly good door -- they would
rather sell the entire door complete so doubt they will sell pieces cheaply.
I wanted a used side door glass and they wanted $10 more than it was new at
a dealer. Do the add on power locks first - its an easy job - just takes a
few hours.
