During my lunch hour, I decided to check the PCV valve on my 1MZ-FE to see if it was clogged. Sure enough, the rattle test proved my suspicions and I bought a replacement PCV valve and grommet.

Trying to use needle nose pliers to pull it out, one side slipped in and the entirety fell down into the valve cover. Arrrgh.

I did my best to feel inside using a dental pick and find it, but it seems to be lost.

Is the grommet going to be caught by a guard plate of some sort? Would waiting until the weekend to remove the valve cover and other in-the-way assemblies be a bad idea?

Any advice would be appreciated, kind of worried here.

people let the grommet sit in the engines for so long and its so easy to renew. i droped bottom of half grommet in the valve cover of both my 5s-fe. i used a hook pick and a straight pick to pull them out. theres a plate on the 5sfe that wont let the grommet fall to the cams. urs should have that too.
