We purchased a portable crate for our 65 lb Lab Mix. He's crate trained so there was no learning curve.

That particular crate the "Day Tripper" is ultra easy to assemble and very easy to carry. If your dog is a chewer or digger you might want something more durable. Our dog loves it and he travels very nicely in it. To keep it in the orientation in the picture I need to fold down at least the one wider seat. If I rotate the crate 90 degrees it will fit behind the seats but leaves little room for my dog to enter/exit the crate. Depending on the size of dog and crate you may not need to fold down the seat(s) of course.Nice! Looks very light weight and portable. Will definitely consider that as I plan to crate train as well.
Cool! It's a shepherd so something along those lines will work I'm sure. That particular crate the "Day Tripper" is ultra easy to assemble and very easy to carry.
