I did a little project adding and re-locating a few weeks back. The mount is from ProClip, the USB power plug is from Amazon, and the Mini audio jacks I had laying around. Its a perfect way to charge and use the phone without cords all over the place. I am going to custom make some perfectly fitted cables in the near future as well. Please excuse the dirtyness of the center compartment.

Did you read my Amazon review of that USB plug? ?

Nice. I have always despised running cables from the center hand rest, through the dinky phone holder and towards wherever it needed to go.

Did you happen to take off the cover for access to the AUX port? Mine is not connecting and I'm afraid the AUX jack is jacked up. I was wondering if it was difficult to remove. Thanks.

Thanks for the info. I see from the comments on Amazon that the dash cover is removed. Where do you connect the 2 wires?

Sorry for the late replay. I bought an "add-a-circuit" and connected it to the fuse box by the knee area. It's connected to a slot that provides power only when ignition is on.

Wow, those are pricey. I have a popsocket on the back of my phone and I wonder if it would work if I got a Proclip base and a popsocket mount (https://www.popsockets.com/products/popsockets-mount).

On a separate issue, can I "digress" and mention that the distraction level of using a phone while driving with it to the left of the steering wheel is three times higher than with it on the right? Based on you peripheral vision being severely limited when looking left of the steering wheel vs looking right of the steering wheel? Just looking out and trying to save another potential accident. Please do not be offended as I am just one of those who supports drivers that minimize distractions as much as possible since I ride a motorcycle and distracted driving is our worse enemy.

I never liked it on the left either. Feels to close. I ended up trying the thickest adapter for my CD player mount (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B012NA9KMI/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and it seems sturdy. Gonna see how it holds up while driving.
