Calling all PS'ers.. i was just wondering if you could give me (and probably some others on here) a mini Tutorial on Photoshop'ing?

Thanks to droppedmytaco for doing that pic of my truck with black 17" sport rims.. think you could teach me how? maybe some sort of step by step?

firefighter11, i use photoshop and illustrator for a living and here's what i always tell people about photoshop:

photoshop is just like a mechanic's toolbox full of tools. there's nothing really magic about the tools themselves; anyone can learn how to turn a wrench or twist a screw. what the mechanic has going for him is the knowledge and experience of knowing which tool to use in a given situation.

just as you can buy a book or watch a video on how to re-build a carburator, you can also buy a book, or watch a video, or read an online tutorial on how to use the different tools, filters and effects within photoshop.

if there was a specific project you wanted to know how to do it would be easy to walk you through the steps, but asking a blanket question like "how do i use photoshop" isn't specific enough to have a specific answer.

google "photoshop tutorials" and hundreds of results come up. look through them and try a few of them. in no time you'll gain experience on how to use the different tools.

i realize this wasn't the answer you were looking for, but i hope it helps.

Dude I just started learning how to use the photoshop that came with my laptop. I only been at it for less than a month and have learned a ton already. I am a typical man and hate reading directions. The best way for me to learn is by trial and error. I use the "lasso" tool to outline what you want to manipulate and then use the "adjust hue/saturation" tool to darken or lighten it. Also there are a couple other tools to adjust brightness and replace colors. Just start messing with it and try to remember what tools do what.

www.good-tutorials.com great website ive been using photoshop for 6-7 years and i still use this website to learn new things, new techniques, and seeing what others have created. and i agree completely with hitman2006. just using the program and doing random things to learn what tool can do what, and when to use it will help greatly. theres so much you can do with this program.
