Picked up a new Tacoma yesterday!!

Went into the 'Stealership' yesterday morning and picked up a brand spankin new Toyota Tacoma Prerunner! (black, access cab, SR5 package, 6 Spd).

I gotta say these trucks aren't that photogenic, they look much nicer in person and a picture can't capture how big they actually are. I've got no complaints so far, heck i don't think the stock stereo system is too bad, but this is going from a POS stereo on a 94 Toyota pickup so pretty much anything would be an improvement. I think my first upgrade will be TRD exhaust and intake, seat covers, and either Ipod interface of some sort or a new stereo system.

I didnt get to drive it much yesterday, went to the Seahawks game.. Sorry Cowboy fans!!:lol:

All in all a great day! Got a new truck and the Seahawks beat the Cowgirls!!

Will do shortly! oh, and i forgot to mention, when dealing with the finance dude, he tried selling me an extended warranty and lo-jack, which i both turned down

Welcome! Did you have a good ownership experience with your prior Toyota truck? Did you shop the competition before you bought the Tacoma?

Congrats,,, i got my 07 2 weeks ago.. Put 1200 miles on it already.. all i can say is that its a vast improvement over the Fords i've been driving... I traded in a 2001 Sport Trac..

yes, other than an surging idle problem that I couldnt fix(and yes i tried to fix it by adjusting the idle screw). It started up everytime. no problems to speak of.

I had a 1991 Toyota 4WD (before the Tacoma name). I really liked that truck. We got our 2006 Tacoma last May, and I love that damn thing. I'm betting you'll have the same feeling soon, if not already.

Very nice! I noticed you have the nice 16" TRD "Off-Road" alloys, but I failed to notice the TRD sticker on the side of the bed. Did you remove them, or is it not a TRD model?

Those are just the alloy wheels. Option on Sr5, standard on offroad. I have them on my sr5 as well.

yes, amp is correct, I only have the SR5 package. I figure why get the TRD or TRD sport if i dont need it? But of course I was lucky that one of these suckers was being shipped within a month when i visited the dealership..
