I just put in a HID conversion kit, its much more simpler to install HID's on a Gen 4.5 because it doesn't require messing around the DRL. It was a straight swap it literally took me 15min to complete the job.

I was scared about the HID's blinding everyone and shooting light everywhere. When I installed them i was really surpirised how stock the HID's looked they didnt blind anyone, 95% of the light aims to the floor. I have been driving for about 3 weeks now with no one flashing me or giving me dirty looks, and they really do a great job of glowing up the road, much better than the stock 4300K on my Acura TL. well heres the pics!! by the way they are 6500K

Heres how they glow up the road, the light spreads everywhere evenly there was no modifications done to the housing.

And this was just for the heck of it, 194 LED plate bulbs Hyper White:

Wow, the light output is nice. It doesn't glare ridiculously as I would expect. I have a gen4.5 also so I think I'll get an HID conversion in the near future. I always thought I would have to do a projector lens retrofit but the stock lamp housing seems to do a decent job according to your pics.

Trust me you wont complain! There is really no need for any sort of modifications to the housing the lights do not aim any higher than the stock halogens do. Like I stated, they really do an amazing job on lighting up the street. I suggest not going anything over 8000K as you will be loosing a lot of light output

It does light up the back of the car and it is very bright, but the light cuts off just under the top of the rear trunk. It doesn't flash upwards into the other persons back window.

I love the output. On the GEN4 there are adjustment screws in case the light is not shining where you want it.. Does the GEN 4.5 have the same thing?

I was thinking the same thing, I like how the cutoff with projectors is so much more defined. Along with the fact that projects just look sweet in the housing. xD

Can a REAL HID conversion kit be had somewhere? Like, oh, say... Where you replace the whole housing and optics?
I can't afford having all the light wash out in the first 50 feet on the pavement. I live where there are deer and such everywhere, so I kind of need to see the sides of the road and out several hundred feet.
