so when i was switching out my clutch i notticed there was some wiggle at the thrust bearing, it slid like 1/8-1/4 of an inch back and forth. i needed the truck for the next day for work so i had to just slap the clutch in with that but it looked wrong to me. just wanted to get some info off people that would know if that was ok or going to be a serious problem comming up.

your crank moved that much ? sounds like the thrust washers fell out ..

.
If you got that much play your cylinders would be oval shaped. I cant remember the thrust readings but it is not more than .05. A little bit of movement seems like a lot and I don't think it is 1/8 to 1/4, but I am not there to actually see it. Like slaker said if it is actually that much your thrust bearings would have fallen out or worn down considerably.
