I am looking for a slightly used Sequoia to bring the price within my budget. There are a few 2wd SR5s in my area available right now with around 20K miles on them for around $33K. They aren't lease returns of previous rentals. They are certified but I'm worried about annoying things that can't be easily fixed like mysterious vibrations in the steering wheel at freeway speeds. On another thread someone mentioned 2018s have an annoying/irritating problem at 2000RPMs. Stuff like that. The vehicles in question have been maintained so that isn't an issue. Are there known annoyances or irritations that wouldn't be covered by the warranty that I should be aware of?

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

I just bought one and am not really familiar with older models but it looks like 2016 and up you should be able to find something in your price range, maybe a few more miles. I reallly love just about everything except the gas mileage.

I bought a 2015 limited last Oct. Test drove it and all was fine. 2500 miles later, still the same. No major issues across all of them with a small exception, noted below.

I've been reading on here and alot on Tundras (because they have so much similarities on drive train and there is so much more chatter about them) and I've only heard of one thing that some dread, a small oil leak out of the cam shaft towers. Don't let this dissuade you and don't believe the hype that it is a Must repair, it's a small leak that lands on a heat shield, nbd.

But if you want to dig in some more on that topic here is the link: CAM SHAFT TOWER SEAL LEAKING ** PLEASE READ*** This link has photos (gotta hunt for them on so many posts) that show you where they do leak from, IF they do. Mine thus far, are bone dry at 73k.

What you hear about the Tundras drive train w/b pretty much the same for the Sequoia (1st or 2nd gen compared against the same gen) because they are built on the same chassis and with the same drive train.

Luck and enjoy those Toyotas. : ^ )))

We just picked up a 2016 with 38K for $31,000. We looked for a month for one that was under $35k price with under 40k miles with leather. They are hard to find at that price. Most are in the $35k to $38k range with those kind of miles for our area. For the cost to have one shipped from dealer to dealer, it might be worth it to look at dealers outside of your area & buy it where it's cheaper & have it shipped. We almost went that route, but the one we found we literally brought it about an hour after they posted it.
