I got my letter today. I didn't think I'd get one.I'm the 3rd owner, so I don't expect a letter.
I went to the dealer 2 weeks ago. They acknowledged my car was part of the recall, but didn't yet have the parts to perform it. They put me on a list to be called.
They also discovered my car had not yet had a tether anchor recall done. Gotta get that done, since I have 2 carseats in my car.

I got the same 2 week song and dance from Dennison Toyota in Bloomington, IlI got my recall letter yesterday afternoon for replacement of the "Steering Column Upper Bracket". (I have a 2000 Avalon.) I called Manhattan Toyota service this morning for an appointment but the lady said that the notices had just gone out and it will be several weeks before Manhattan Toyota get the replacement parts. She suggested I call back in about 2 weeks. It is unacceptable that the parts have not yet been received, especially since the official Toyota Press Release was sent out almost 2 months ago on July 29, 2010.
