possibly dying door lock actuators, sometimes they'll get weak and have enough power to unlock but not lock (or vice versa) and eventually wear out to the point that nothing works. If you hit the button repeatedly do they eventually do the intended function? Can you put your ear to the door and listen for the lock motor working?

Thanks, guys!
When "unlock" doesn't work, I can push button 100 times, it still doesn't unlock. I attached a bulb to wires going to lock actuator to check voltage and when "unlock" doesn't work there is no voltage coming to RF actuator. That means master switch or BCM are the problem, not actuators. Most likely BCM, because door lock actuator works all the time.
I still bought new master switch from ebay just in case ($19 shipped) and probably get BCM from junk yard if unlock stops working again. Does used BCM need reprogramming?

Car5car,

I am experiencing the same issue that you're describing and wanted to know if you have reached resolution. There is conflicting information regarding actuators, BCM (body control module), master switch etc and I'm not willing to modify the wiring per Fran's eBay kit (I'd like to retain OEM functions)

The car is new to me and so I do not know if all doors stopped working at once.
My local Toyota dealer diagnosed it as faulty door actuators but I find it hard to believe that the three are all faulty. Please post an update if you have new information.

remove 3 door panels
attach small bulb to 2 fat wires, going to actuator.
Click lock/unlock to see if bulb lights up
In my case there were no voltage to unlock 3 doors. I am sure it was faulty BCM.
I installed one relay, supplying voltage to unlock 3 doors.
Voltage, running the relay, was from unlocking voltage going to driver door actuator

All connections and relay were in BCM area.
You have to be pretty good "electrical" guy to modify it like I did.

so, the bcm was faulty but still supplies enough juice to trigger the secondary relay you installed for the door actuators?
interesting.

i had to do basically the same thing to run some heavy duty horns from a crown victoria cause that single oem horn on my 94 wasn't cutting it.
