My '92 w/167k has cold morning steering sickness. It has no leaks (at least not yet). I want to replace the P/S fluid and add some 'Lucus'. I'm going to use a turkey blaster to remove the old fluid (I don't want to disturb the p/s hoses). My ??? is should I replace it with fresh Dextron and drive it for a week or so and drain it again and then add the Lucus or just add the Lucus the first time... I want to get in as much fresh fluid as possable...

As far as I know, your gen3 Camry uses a Dexron automatic transmission fluid for the power steering. I know, it's strange that the same fluid is used for both the transmission and power steering but that's how Toyota does it. I suggest buying Dexron type II or III ATF fluid and adding it in. You can flush it through once or twice if you want but I don't think adding real power steering fluid like Lucas is good for your Camry. It even says on the cap to fill with Dexron type ATF fluid only.

Use Dextron type III ONLY, type II no longer produced. The best way to change and flush the system is to raise the Ft end and put the car on jack stands. Remove the return hose from the plastic tank and plug the inlet to the tank. I used another piece of hose and slipped a golf tee in it to plug it. Get an empty container and put the hose that you removed from the tank into it. Now simply turn the steering wheel back & forth and the rack will pump the fluid out. You will need to add fluid in the tank after every cycle of the B&F. You will not get air in the system this way and it works quite well. When the fluid is bright red and clean STOP...you are finished! Replace the hose to the tank, fill to the correct level.
This whole process is posted somewhere on this site. That is where I found out how to do this.

BTW..be sure and use lots of rags under the tank to keep it clean.
