Just ah quiq post i got my 94 camry with ah 2.2l 4 cly. motor..

just wondering what kind of preformance parts i can put..

i was originaly thinking turbo but alot of people tell me that you cant put to much weight on the car when you got one. and well everyweek end my car is packed.. so that idea has been left alone.. but still want ah nice kick out of it..

so what brand is better for the following parts..

Headers..
Exaust.
trotle body space... (thinking of getting it off a scion tc)
air intake.
distributor
cables.
spark plugs.
oil..
oil filter

if anyone has any other ideas.. that would be great..

i also have a second engine im rebuilding.. i know im going to get forged pistons.. but not sure if to get them a sertain brand or just order them to get made.. from a machine shop.

with this second engin what else should i get redone?

thanks..

Oh well, u can always beat a stock civics, si or not :D

If u are serious about turboing the 5sfe, here it goes http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/showthread.php?t=182016

Also check in with those guys on mr2 and celica forum, God bless ur motor.
well if youre rebuilding a second engine, then im assuming youre atleast slightly mechanically inclined.
i would save your money on the first engine, and build the second. but it will get expensive. but here is what i would recommend.
wiseco pistons. nothing more than a 9.5 compression ratio, which is what the 5sfe 4cyl already is stock. more boost friendly.
pauter rods.
arp headbolts
metal gaskets, specifically head and valve cover gasket
high performance bearings.
there was also a website i had bookmarked for aftermarket cams and titanium valve springs and retainers, but i had to wipe my computer so i lost it.

then after you turbo you will want bigger injectors, colder plugs, and a good tune, on top of everything else that is common sense to have with a turbo, like the wastegate, piggyback or standalone, turbo itself, intercooler, water and oil lines, bigger fuel pump, etc.
turbo?

well i thought if i did go all turbo then if i load my car with people it would put more stress on the car and burn it up..

thats why i was thinking just doing everything else.. headers.. intake.. ex..

Not being a smart ass, but buy yourself a Camry with a V6 if you want power.
W95C
v6

its all good but the thing is that currently with the motor i have i can get ah full 435 per tank.. and that was about 3 months ago.. but its just been getting worce.. so since i have a send engine i just want to know everything i can do to get the most out of this car power and speed wise.. then when that is pushed to the limit and i have the cash on had.. turbo it..
if you build it, you wont burn it up. if you dont, then you can kiss it goodbye. research turbocharging an engine. and i mean REALLY research it.

and white95cam is right. if you want some power, but are worried about the turbo failing, then just sell the car and buy a v6. a lot better in the end. and buy a standard while your at it.

but if your engine is just losing gas mileage, then check things like your fuel filter, air filter, oil, spark plugs, tire pressure, things like that. you'll be surprised with the difference all that can make on gas mileage.

a turbo is a big project, and again. do your homework. personally, unless you LOVE that car, i would waste the time or money on it. few have done it, even fewer were very pleased with it.

to be honest, the BEST performance part you can put on that car would be a manual swap. it can handle turbo better, faster out of the box, sporiter, make bigger gains of small things like exhaust.
importperformance doesnt have anything for the 5sfe.
but bigbird is right. manual swap if you keep the 4cyl. it is much quicker than the auto, and you have that extra gear. plus, if you do boost it, it can relieve pressure in between shifts, and its not constantly boosting like an auto tranny.

if you seriously want to turbo, do some research, and then pm 2wickedtoyz, ASG14, if you can find hamsterman, msg him. they all have messed with turbo's and can help you.
^ really:confused:. because they have it listed. have you called to confirm this?
