Power Window Problem 00 LE V6...Please Help!

1101 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Admiral
I just bought a 2000 Camry LE V6 5speed and the Driver side rear power window does not work properly. If you hit the switch the window will go down, however, it will not come back up ( happens with both the Left rear door switch an the driver/master switch). If you wait a few minutes then try again it will go up about an inch and stop. I can get the window back up but have to do this process mutliple times. It seem as thought the motor is weak, or it just runs out of juice.

Any one have any ideas or tips.

Also, how do I get the door panel off?

Thanks,
Andy

Don't know about the problem, but there are discussions here other places about the door panel. Haynes/Chilton has pretty good info on taking off the panel.

There are a couple of screws, a few clips, and the inside handle bezel that have to be removed before you can get the door trim off.

I don't remember exactly how many or exactly where they are, so take a look when you're ready to go for it, and make sure you're careful not to break the plastic clips. There's one bugger on the rear side that looks like a donut with the donut hole inside. Get the "hole" out first (won't come out all the way, as I recall) and then worry about the donut. Otherwise you're going to crack the donut and it'll look like mine. If you do it's not the end of the world.
my friends 93 did that. after we took the door panel out we saw that there was foam like stuff getting in the way of the arm that goes up and down. also if some screws are too tight or too loose, that could cause it. As a Last result replace the master switch and/or motor both which are pretty cheap on ebay.
