Trying to talk my neighbor into buying a Prius V. She looked it up and saw that they sell a version of the v in Japan with an option for a 3rd row of seats. But apparently not available in the US. So, wondering if anyone has done a CONVERSION, as it, modify a US v to accommodate the 3rd row seats. Is it possible, or are they major structural changes to the body that make the 3rd row possible?

Thanx!

Anything is possible, but.....

The difference is that the Japanese V with a 3rd row has an upgraded battery pack in the center console instead of the US-version battery pack that is in place where the 3rd row sits.

If they want 3rd row, hybrid, and Toyota - time to find a Highlander.
