I am driving an 89 SR5 V6. Recently it has been dying at stop lights.

It starts fine but after 1 or 2 miles when I stop the idle drops and the engine dies.
It takes 10 or 15 tries to get the engine to turn over after this. It feels/sounds like the engine is getting no gas.

When it does start it will run fine for the rest of my drive. The sesasons are changing and there is much more precipitation in the air.

I'm not sure if this is a factor or not.

Also my temperature gauge doesn't read to the first line until after 10 miles of driving where it used to warm up after only a mile or so

Can this be related to the above mentioned problem?

I would change the fuel filter unless of course you're already done that. A fuel system cleaner may not help.... but it won't hurt either.

I don't think the slower warm up is directly related to your idling problem.
