My mom has a 2004 Sienna and when the rear hatch is up and it's raining, the water drains into the back wetting everything. Is this a design flaw or is something wrong? She took it into the dealership and the service manager refused to even look at the vehicle. He said they don't control the weather and she could leave the vehicle there but he won't do anything. She lives in Hilo, Hawaii and there's no other place to go.

She had a Ford Aerostar previously and never experienced this problem.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Wow.

Are you sure the rubber molding is still there (it's the one that runs all around the opening).

or

I'm sure your mom's car was leaning toward the back (i.e. front was high, like when parked on a hill) during the rain storm.

Thanks for the response. I'll ask about the molding. As for the leaning, she was parked on level ground. She even drove the salesman to the house to run the hose over the van to show him the problem and he agreed that it didn't look good.
