Hey guys i just got a 20 ft. ski boat. Its got a 350 in it and weighs about 3000 lbs dry. I have a 6 speed tacoma, v6 and i just can't see the truck pulling it out of the water. I'm guessing with the trailer and gas it weighs maybe 3800 -4200 lbs all together. Does anyone here have anything like what i have. If you do does it pull it out of the water alright.

I don't have 4x4 so i think my tires might just spin when i try to pull it out. I'm just not sure because i've never pulled anything that big. Thanks for help.

I pull a 22 foot bowrider, that weighs 4800-5000 lbs. on the trailer. I've never had a problem pulling it out of the water or towing it anywhere. I've also never needed four wheel drive to get it out on a paved ramp. We used to launch on the beach right out our front door, and I used 4wheel for that, but we have a big tractor to do that job now.:D

Oh, and I've got the same setup as you: 6speed manual.

^ It will be fine as mentioned above. I have pulled around the small weight with mulitple boats. When the weight is trailer the tires grabs...not spin...at least I haven't had mine 6-spd spin.

i also have a 6 spd. i pulled out a 19 footer out of the water, but had to use 4wd to get out because the incline was pertty steep and long. if your incline is pretty steep, u might need it.

I've pulled a 4,000 lbs boat a lot, and I did need 4WD several times. It happened at saltwater launch ramps only though, when the tide was out a little bit and the rear wheels were on that exposed slimy stuff.

I have 22ft sailboat, combined trailer weight is about 3500#s, and my V6 pulls it just fine! No problems at the ramp, I just gear down to 2nd.
