This is a dumb question. I am good at rebuilding the top end of my 22R, but nothing much south. My engine quit while driving up the freeway..started with small pinging sound ending in rapid machine gun fire and engine failure. I pulled the head yesterday, and the valves all look fine.
Looking at the block. #1, 2, and 4 pistons were up; #3 was down.
I pushed on 1, 2, and 4, and was able to easily push piston #2 down into the cylinder. I am about 99% sure that this is not a good thing !

Thanks.

Thanks for the reply...Yeah, thats what I figured...carnage is about right....when I tried turning it over again it was like gravel in a blender; then basically siezed up. Been a great run; bought it new off the lot in October 1982 !! 370K miles; Crazy...
