6000K is on the bluer side, personally I would go with either 4300K or 5000K to have the brightest light output on the road. However because your car has halogen reflectors, the chances are if you installed an HID kit you would give off huge amount of glare to oncoming traffic, and have lots of hot spots all over the place instead of an even spread of light.
Question about HID Kits
I am not that educated on HID kits although i know that 6000k means the operating temp. Im looking for an HID kit for my 1999 camry which is running on the stock headlights. I am probably going to get a McCulloch 6000K HID kit, does anybody have any advice or special knowledge of HID kits?

i have an 8000k kit on mine and its just a little to blue for my liking id say 6000 would be good or lower. the higher up ya get the less light output and the more varied the color.
i have mine installed without projectors and the light spread is just fine. not sure about teh gen4.5 but the gen4 has a good cut off point and little glare.
ive never herd of xenonlink thats interesting how they have halogen and HID in one bulb. mcculloch is a pretty good brand but you are gonna need the bixenon, unless ya dont want highbeams. also chaeck out the forsale section here and search for Mod express, i have Mod express HID kit and its a pretty good kit and we get a little discount here as well.

well not liek it matters now, the car is long gone...or in richmond. i did have them in right but since mine were phillips bmw OEM HIDs they were really bright and made for projectors(no sheild).
I never had a shield on my HID kit, and that was a cheap $100 kit from eBay with no wiring harness, lol.

Most eBay kits are bad quality, for one they don't include relay harnesses (the cheap $100 kits), and I had lots of issues with only one bulb igniting. They also use cheap ballasts and they won't last long. But for the price they are alright.ebay HID kits arent bad I have two of them

Yeah, most kits are poor quality from china or korea
You'll end up with a blown bulb/ballast in 14 months, 1-2moshy of the 1 year warranty.
HID with K rating over 4500 is just for show ... the usable light starts going down hill from 4300(oem spec).
With the camry's headlights (excluding the new generation) you'll just be blinding oncoming traffic. Your beam pattern will be pretty crappy but you might think it's good because you'll see more light. If you truly want the performance of HID, grab some OEM HID projectors (e46 cheapest ---> s2k/ls430 costly) and retrofit them in.
These will put a hole in your wallet, but you'll see they work far better.
If you just want a cooler temperature look ... try silverstars (these are not in fact brighter ... they are just not as yellow)
If you are going to waste money on E bay stuff ... might as well go cheap as possible ...

Does anybody have a McCulloch, Genesis, Xetronic or Philips HID Kit? I'm probably going to buy a set of mcculloch's or xetronic's from www.xtralights.com or www.xenoneyes.com
i regret getting the 8000k. i would settle for 6000k or 5000k, although i think 5500k (if any) is a sweet spot for me.
i did the same thing and i agree :thumbup:.
Bought 5000k any couldn't bee happier. Perfect colour IMO.
did you have the DEPO headlights on your coupe? the cap on the end would probably block some of the glare that the OEM lights would have cause of the metal ring^ i still dont know how yours was so clean and mine was all scattered and crappy.
