Why modify Silverstar 9005's to fit into the 9006 socket if you can just buy 9006 silverstars? that just doenst seem to make much sense to me? wouldnt 9006 silverstars be brighter than stock bulbs to begin with?

edit: i understand that 9005's have more lumens meaning more light...but i guess what im asking is wouldnt 9006 silverstars be brighter than the stock 9006 bulbs?

Because 9006 bulbs are 55w, 9005 bulbs are 65w, that's a 15% differance I'm gla dyou understand that, we're just getting a tiny bit more light for the same price and 20 seconds with a soldering iron, or a few min with a file.

9006 Silverstarts are slightly brighter than 9006 bulbs. 9005 Silverstars are brighter than 9006 silverstars...

The idea here is get a bulb that 20% brighter than stock.

big p: i know i know its cool

bowlofturtle: my sister got pulled over for the lights on the camry being "too bright" they are stock too and the brights werent even on (anyone who read it....i mentioned that in o/t once awhile back i know :D )

edit: i wish it wasnt dark...i could be installing my gauges
what happens when she got pulled over? is it like some warning crap? But i swear if that happen to me and i was stock w/o high beams on i'll bitch them out. I'll tell them to take the bulb out and look themselves.
You're only getting pulled over on stock lights if they're just aimed outrageously high. The few times I've evr been flashed with my Phillips HID's in the stock projectors was when I was way out in the country, where there is no traffic, and people just are not use to HID's.
I have people flash their brights at me ALL THE DAMN TIME! Stock bulbs aimed properly, but at least a few times a week some jackass decides they're my brights. Of course I always feel the need to show them the real brights instead!:D

-course then I live "way out in the country"
