I am looking into getting MB Gunner 6 wheels, 17x8 139.7/6 25mm offset. The questions I have are:

1. With the 25mm offset the backspacing is 5.5", I believe I read somewhere on here that the TRD Sport wheels are 5.25", so there should not be a clearance issue with the 265/65/17 tires. I probably will go to 265/70/17 tires later. Any issues with rubbing/clearance?

2. What is the hub bore for Gunner 6? Do you need a hub ring or did you use the lugs to center the wheel? (I hope this doesn't spur another debate about lug-centric vs. hub-centric!!!)

3. Can you reuse the existing lug nuts from your wheel or do you need to purchase new ones?

Thanks for any help with this!

5.5" is too much backspacing and you will have rubbing issues.

I think they make them with a -6mm offset. Why not those?

I have the 16" MB Gunner 6's. Those have a backspacing of 4.25" (-6mm) and a hub diameter of 108mm. They fit just fine since the truck's hub is 106mm. No adjustments or hub ring needed. You'll need different lug nuts.

I ordered mine from Discount Tire. Even though we've heard that they've been discontinued, some shops might still have some left in their inventory...

One of the main reasons for me to get different wheels was to get them to stick out a little. A 5.5 BS would be tucked in even more than the stock wheels .... Is that what you want?

No. But if the Sport wheel backspace is 5.25" and the Gunner is 5.5" then 1/4" difference is negligible IMO. If I am incorrect about the Sport backspace then I need to look at different wheels.

Like he said, 16's will work, but the 17's wont.

Yeah, I thought of that before, but I really don't wan't to buy new tires since I have ~10K on mine now. Plus I like the look of the 17" wheel on the long bed over the 16"

Sorry to bring up an old post, but I too would like to go with 17" or 18" Gunner 6 wheels. Is the only problem with these wheels that they rub a little on the UAC? Would a spacer help remedy the problem? I'm still learning about the back space and offset of wheels, so figure my ignorance.
